Buses to and from Madrid Airport (MAD)

Buses are available to take travelers quickly and conveniently into the city. These services are provided by several companies, including EMT Madrid and Bus Line 200, and Intercity buses.

Depending on the route taken, travelers can reach destinations by subway or railway. Additionally, taxis are available 24/7 outside both terminals at Madrid Airport for those who prefer a more direct route to their destination.

There are plenty of choices for visitors looking for car rental options at Madrid Airport. Different car hire companies in terminal buildings offer competitive prices and packages to meet every budget and travel need.

The airport also provides a dedicated parking area with plenty of spaces for those who wish to drive around Madrid during their stay.

Please approach the Information Desk if you need help locating the correct ground transportation option at the airport.

Bus Services at Madrid Airport

EMT

The airport is connected to the city of Madrid by regular public bus services provided by EMT (Madrid Municipal Transport Company): bus 200 operates as a whole line, dropping passengers off at the departures of terminals 1, 2, and 4, and then picking them up in the opposite order at the arrivals.

From Plaza Cibeles in the heart of Madrid to Plaza de los Hermanos Falcó y Alvarez de Toledo in Barajas, about 400 meters from the airport via an elevated walkway, is the N4 public night bus route provided by EMT.

An express bus operated by EMT travels between Barajas Airport and Renfe's Atocha Station (the main rail station in Madrid) during the day and Plaza Cibeles at night. In contrast to the services above, this line is operational around the clock every day of the year.

CRTM

Four bus routes (numbers 822, 824, 827, and 828) are operated by CRTM (Consorcio Regional de Transportes de Madrid) to transport passengers between the airport and the cities in the metropolitan area.
