Two car rental companies have installed counters at Valverde Airport, offering quality renting services.

Renters must be at least 21 years old and above. However, they are only allowed for specific vehicle types; the ideal rental age is 25 for high-end cars. The rental company also requires a valid driver's license, identification card, passport, and additional proof of address.

Returning cars must also be notified to the car rental agency for further instructions before proceeding to the location.

Online reservation is possible for the interested renter. This is made through the airport's website car hire portal or the car rental company's mobile app.

Taxi Services at Valverde Airport

Valverde Airport has an official taxi rank outside the passenger terminal's building. Always take a taxi from the signed taxi rank and avoid taxi drivers offering services from other areas.

Taxis serving the airport are authorized metered taxis. The total taxi fare will be shown on the taximeter once you arrive at your destination. However, passengers are urged to request a receipt for any claims.

Bus Services at Valverde Airport

Buses are the most utilized public transportation in El Hierro. They have been one of the most dependable transports on the island.

Transhierro Bus line is responsible for the daily transport services of the residents and public commuters in the area. It also serves the airport with one bus route linking the island's capital to the airport.

Line 10 serves Valverde Airport. The opening schedule of bus transport to the airport starts at 7:45 AM, 10:00 AM, 12:00 NN, 2:00 PM, 3:45 PM, 4:45 PM, and 6:00 PM. The trip to Valverde town proper opens at 9:00 AM, 11:30 AM, 1:45 PM, 3:15 PM, 4:30 PM, 5:45 PM, and 6:45 PM.

Hotel Shuttle Services at Valverde Airport

El Hierro has limited hotels in town; most accommodations are apartments and house rentals. However, there are still some accommodations offering shuttle transfers.
